Out & About in Singapore:
You are invited to join us on the second Tuesday of the month for a leisurely stroll out and about as we explore different Singapore neighbourhoods. We will check out local history, new shopping options, and discover little known eateries.
Date: Wednesday, 30 March 2011
Where: Diary Farm Park
Come with us and take a walk on the wild side of Singapore. Dairy Farm Park is one of Singapore’s newest nature reserve parks. We’ll talk about the area’s history and biodiversity and Singapore’s efforts to preserve it. We’ll also have a look at some beautiful quarries and learn about the park’s surprising role in the publication of the theory of evolution by natural selection. It is a pretty area with an interesting story. There will be several kilometres of hiking and the trail is a little bit rough in spots, so please wear sturdy shoes or runners and comfortable, breathable clothing.
This tour will take place in the morning of Wednesday, March 30, 2011 and is free of charge. We will have lunch afterwards at the Café Epicurious / Sweet Salty Spicy which offers Western and Thai food and has set lunches from $10 to $18++. Please let us know whether you intend to stay for the lunch. The tour will be limited to 25 participants.
Please register before March 25 by e mailing your name and mobile phone number and your lunch info to lyndasellars@hotmail.com with the subject matter "Out and About in Singapore".
More detailed information about the tour and meeting place and time will be sent to you by e mail a few days before the tour.
Hope you can join us!
Tour leaders: Lynda Sellars and Dolores Parker
